About Me

I am currently the District-25 webmaster plus webmaster of the Monterey Bay Sail and Power Squadron website.

My boat is a 25 ft Skipjack Sportsfisher named "Chantik".  I fish mainly for Salmon and Albacore but also fish for rock cod, halibut, ling cod, and those juicy, mouth watering, sand dabs!  I keep my boat on a trailer at home.  With this now being the second year of NO SALMON fishing off the California coast, it looks like the boat will continue in dry dock for another year.

I live half way between Monterey and Moss Landing to the north, in the middle of Artichoke Country.  The weather here is always cool. Temperature highs between summer and winter vary only by about 10 degrees. It will be in the 60's during the summer and 50's during the winter.  Now the lows is another story!  Our warm season is the late fall when we might see an 80 degree day from time to time, but 90 degree days here are very RARE.  BTW, the sea temperature never gets far from 57 degrees around here so that is why we are so cool. We get night and morning fog in the summer (our natural air conditioner) and the fog usually burns off before noon exposing bright cloudless skies.

In short, this place is heaven to live in.....never too hot and never too cold!  I don't mind wearing a long sleeve shirt in the summer.....hahahaha.
